Alumni

Yes, some of our kids are doing quite well.  Percussionist Colin Woodford has appeared on “Glee” 4 times, as has Matisse Mozer, another Fox Hamilton alum.

Paris Carney went through the  Fox-Hamilton mentor program.   The Carney family attended Hamilton and are all in the news.   Zane Carney is currently starring on Broadway as Spiderman in the about-to-open musical, “Turn Off The Dark” , with music by Bono and the Edge.    Reeve is signed to Interscope as the band “Carney“, and youngest sister Paris is about to launch her first release “Carried Away“.   Read more about the Carney family in the NY Times article here.

Another of our former mentees recently in the New York Times. Sydney Bennett (2008-2009) is the engineer / producer and a member of Odd Future, a teen hiphop collective that is getting a lot of attention lately.   Read more about Sydney and Odd Future in the NY Times and LA Weekly.

While in her last semester at Berklee College of Music, to which she was awarded the Presidential Scholarship, mentee Katie Thiroux received an invitation to join the faculty at the University de San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador for one year. In late August 2009, she began teaching over 30 bass and vocal students. Between working on her pedagogical techniques, composing new material and adapting to the fascinating culture in Ecuador, Thiroux performs with her own trio and other notable artists across the world. Being on the road and performing internationally galvanizes her to collect influences for her art.  Most recently Katie and her trio performed at the 2010 Rochester International Jazz Festival.  View a photo essay from the festival here

And that’s just a few of our wonderful alums!
