Job Shadowing 2011

Kudos to Pat for arranging such a great day yesterday for the Fox Hamilton mentees.  The students were extremely engaged with all the presentors and what they were saying.  It was, once again, one of the highlights of the year. Some even said that as a result of the session, they were re-thinking their current aspirations!

Pat, many thanks for your continuing commitment to Fox Hamilton MENTORtainment and for organizing the Job Shadowing session for all these years!!  You’re the best!!

And to our presentors, please know that the students are quite fascinated by what you do, and how you got to this point in your careers.  You are role models for them and provide them with many ideas for how they might proceed on their own career paths.  It means a lot to these young people that you are willing to take time out of your busy schedules to speak to them.

And should you ever be seeking interns, we typically have alums enrolled in nearby colleges and many are interested in Fox internships.

Many thanks to all!  And should anyone not already in the program be interested in learning more about mentoring in the Fox Hamilton program, drop me a line — I’d be happy to forward more information.

Thanks so much for touching the lives of these young people!

Cheryl Mollicone

Director, Fox Hamilton MENTORtainment

What’s In A Song – 2011

We put together our 6th volume of What’s In A Song.   Again, all of the Mentors and Mentees chose a song and gave an explanation of why they chose it.  We had a great turnout this year.   Jake Goldman got a personal lesson on song construction for his original song “Haunted House” when Robert Kraft started playing it on the piano!   Go Jake!

Master Class in Auditioning

The mentees got to practice their auditioning skills in front of two very esteemed music professionals, Dr.Ron McCurdy, professor of music in the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California (USC) and Robert Kraft, President of film music at Twentieth Century Fox.  I think we all learned a lot during the process and the mentors were happy to learn more about the students.
